My sculptures are an expression of nature and the organic materials whose beauty and variety I try to enhance. Whether the sculpture is purely abstract or figurative is sometimes only discerned by the eye of the viewer. When I start to carve I study the stone and try to form a relationship by listening to what it has to tell me. Often it seems as if the stone is speaking some obscure foreign language, but eventually communication is established and a vision emerges. My objective is to achieve a form that the viewer wants to touch with their hands and eyes, and one that will touch their heart.
